Smokey Cat Eye

Okay so this going to be a very short post on how to get this look:

1. Apply a nude colour all over the eye
2. High light the brow bone and inner corner of your eye with a very light beige shadow
3. Define the crease with a dark brown and wing out slightly- then blend
4. Using a light shimmery brown colour blend it in to the rest of your lid (if possible on top of this pack a gold(ish) glitter around the inner to middle part of your eyelid)
5. Using a black pencil liner line all around your eyes- even upper water line and smudge this a lot
6. Using a black liquid liner line around your eyes and create a dramatic wing
7. Apply black mascara (fake lashes if you wish)
8. Clear up under eye with concealer

Here is my poor attempt at taking a selfie to show you the out come...

Pair this with a nude lip and strong brow

Salted Caramel Muffins

For my lovely mothers birthday I made the most delicious salted caramel and chocolate muffins instead of a traditional cake. Although slightly time consuming they were 100% worth it- but definately not a healthy option, they are basically fat and sugar.

Salted Caramel and Chocolate Muffin.

Salted Caramel.

Chocolate Cake Mixture.

Ready for the oven.

Cooling down.

Final Outcome.

If you want to make these for your self visit kategowing.blogspot.com as I used her wonderful recipe to make the muffins, icing and salted caramel!

Shailene Woodley Inspired Makeup

I recently went to see "Divergent" at the cinema and it's safe to say I am obsessed! Definitely worth a watch and the soundtrack is amazing. I fell in love with Theo James and Shailene Woodley! They were both gorgeous.

I am not very good with "tutorials" this may not be exactly her make up but it is my attempt using my own products etc. Obviously I look nothing like her but it is purely the make up taken from this one photo:

Use foundation and concealer to create a "flawless" appearance and then layer on the bronzer. She looks really quite bronze (if you're pale like me don't worry too much- it's hard to achieve)!

Highlight the cheeks to give a dewy effect I used "golden peach" high light stick by "Elf".

Strong brows- make sure you comb them through and these should be naturally strong and defined. Although my eyebrows need to be tamed- I can't be bothered.

A dark eye- natural base colour and a dark matte brown through the crease. To define the bottom use a brown eye liner on your lower lash line (you could go heavier than I did on this).
Then define the upper lash line and outer corner by applying a black eye liner pencil tightly and quite heavily- the trick here is to smudge a lot! You want it to delicately define the eye!

Apply a natural matte coppery shade to your lips very lightly!

Not too sure if this was at all helpful- this is a perfect everyday look! I hope you enjoyed.

Plum Foolery

Technically this is a re-purchase, the first time I bought this blush I left it on the plane before ever getting to use it!

I thought I'd do a review on the shimmer blush by MAC named "Plum Foolery"..
I am in love with the wash of colour it gives!
Although this blush is better suited to Autumn/Winter, it is perfectly acceptable for all year round! The shimmer gives a really natural high light and compliments both pale and more tanned skin. If you have green or brown eyes it will compliment them perfectly!
Plum Foolery - MAC.

My attempt at a swatch.

Over all I seriously reccomend this product as an addition to your make up collection- it's gorgeous!

Food Porn

Was feeling majorly hungry so I decided to blog about it..

Jamie Oliver's truffle tagliatelle would go down a treat

Then again so would this waffle with almonds, walnuts, pistacio ice cream and peanut butter from potty pancakes.

I must start dieting for prom. Which means that six biscuits with my cup of tea isn't acceptable. And no matter how much I try to justify those six biscuits by saying "they're fig rolls, figs are fruit. I am eating fruit. No one else likes fig rolls I'm doing everyone a favour." So if anyone has any tips on how I can achieve this, let me know.

Hope I haven't made you too hungry!

Jack Whitehall

I am aware this most may have no relevance to most of you, but as an extremely belated birthday treat (my birthday is in december) I got to see my favourite comedian Jack Whitehall live at wembely with some friends!
Of course he was brutally witty and hilarious as always- I've never laughed so much! If you don't know who is already I reccomend looking him up.
So I thought if share some of it with you.

All of us at the station on the way.

McDonalds selfie! (No trip to London is complete with out a maccy d's- how upmarket of me).

My view of the gorgeous Jack from the twelfth row (seriously crushing on him)

He dressed up as Mufasa in boxers...

I apologise for the poor quality photos and completely irrelevant post

Mascara

After trying far too many products in my sixteen years I have not found one but three perfect mascaras! These are my personal all time favourites!
I apologise for the bad quality photos.

The first is "Bare Minerals- Lash Domination". Not as good for length but volume? Wow. Makes lashes look full and the product has a great consistency.

This is my favourite drugstore mascara. "Collection 2000- Super Size" makes your lashes long and thick without those dreaded clumps that give you the effect of spiders legs for eye lashes! And it's super cheap!

This mascara has so much hype but honestly it's amazing! "Benefit- They're Real" makes your lashes look unreal (pardon the pun). I reccomend investing in this.

Healthy Hair

As someone who regularly dyes and bleaches their hair (in order to keep my dip-dye in tact) I know what a pain it is to have dry brittle ends.
I then purchased "Moroccan Argan Oil" and put it through the ends of my damp hair. And the difference was remarkable!

After having such success with one of their products I purchased their shampoo and conditioner too. It nourishes and keeps your hair so healthy.

I tend to interchange this shampoo and conditioner with either "Aussie" or "Head and Shoulders" as the products are too heavy to use on a daily basis.
However I still use the oil every day.

You can purchase these as any Boots or Waitrose- I'm sure they stocked in other stores aswell.

Baking

I received this wonderful Mary Berry cook book for christmas 2013 which I love!
For fellow bake-off fans I'm sure you understand my obsession with her and excitement- as this is my first very own cook book.
As I have no time to physically bake something, instead I decided to share this with you- Enjoy!

Retrica

So I know this is strange as my first "official post" but this app is amazing!
Not only is Retrica free but the options and quality it gives is amazing.
It's super easy to use for those of use who aren't so good with technology (me) and the range if filters and formats are lush- with a timer and interval included!

Also it makes you look so much better with minimal editing- so it's perfect for Instagram or a cheeky selfie!

Here are some of my photos with my gorgeous friends using retrica

FIRST BLOG POST

This is my first blog post.. wow. Aside from loving reading blogs, and watching youtube I'm not really sure how to do this. I know friends with blogs and that ultimately gave me the confidence to do it.
I'm Beth, I'm sixteen- I love fashion, beauty and baking. So a lot of my posts will probably be about that. I doubt anyone will even read my blog but even if one person read it and it gave them some cool ideas or made them smile, that would make me so so happy :)

Anyway thanks- Beth x
